Why a tuner in a workspace beats a tuner in a tab
A standalone tuner does one job well and then leaves you exactly where you were: at the start of a practice session with nothing decided. The utility is not the problem. The problem is that it is disconnected from everything that happens after you finish tuning.
Inside Guitar PS, tuning is the first thirty seconds of a session that already knows what the next twenty minutes contain. The same is true of the metronome: the tempo you work at is recorded against the exercise, so next week you can see whether the number moved.
Microphone and privacy
The tuner asks for microphone permission only when you open it, and the audio is analysed in your browser. Guitar PS does not upload tuner audio.
Everything else here runs without a microphone, so if you would rather not grant access, the other seventeen tools are unaffected.
